ChatGPT Slides for Marketers: How to Build Client Decks, Campaign Reviews, and Sales Presentations (2026)

OpenAI began rolling out ChatGPT Slides on October 16, 2026. If you build pitch decks, monthly reports or proposals, ChatGPT Slides for marketers is worth a controlled test. This guide covers three jobs: client decks, campaign reviews and sales presentations. It also covers what the tool can’t do yet.

What ChatGPT Slides is and who can use it

Slides is rolling out to eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise users with Space access, on the web and in the desktop app. Space is the shared workspace where a team and ChatGPT build pages, documents and presentations together.

According to a Windows-focused write-up of OpenAI’s documentation, Slides has no separate price tag. It is included on Pro, Business and Enterprise when the workspace has Space enabled. Plus and Free accounts are not listed as eligible at launch. The rollout is gradual, so if the feature doesn’t appear in your account, it isn’t active yet.

I couldn’t confirm any per-seat prices for these plans from the sources I found, so check OpenAI’s pricing page for current numbers.

How a deck gets built

OpenAI’s help article describes the basic flow:

  1. Open Work and ask for a slide, presentation or deck. Describe the topic, audience and material it should cover.
  2. Use an existing conversation or attach source files.
  3. ChatGPT creates an editable presentation that you can open in Space.

You can also go to Space, select Create > Slide, and start from a blank slide or a template. Coverage of the launch says you can also start from an outline, or share an example deck to guide style and layout.

You can edit text, images, shapes and charts by hand, or ask ChatGPT to make the change. Teammates with edit access can work on the same deck at the same time.

Use case 1: client decks

The problem is familiar. Strategy notes, briefs and past work are scattered, and the pitch still has to look consistent. This is where ChatGPT Slides for marketers has the clearest fit.

Suggested workflow

  1. Collect the inputs: the brief, discovery call notes, brand guidelines and a past deck that represents your preferred style.
  2. In Work, attach those files. State the client, the audience (for example, a CMO and a head of growth) and the decision you want from the meeting.
  3. Share the example deck so the layout and style follow your house look.
  4. Open the result in Space and share it with your account lead. Use @mentions in comments to request changes. To request edits, @mention ChatGPT to have your agent make changes.
  5. Check every claim and number against its source before the deck leaves the building.

Use case 2: campaign reviews

Campaign reviews are repetitive. The structure barely changes, but the data does. You can ask for a fixed outline: goals, results versus targets, what worked, what didn’t and next steps.

Suggested workflow

  1. Export your channel results to a file and attach it, along with the original campaign brief.
  2. Ask for a review deck in the same outline each month, so stakeholders always find the same sections in the same order.
  3. Verify each chart and percentage against the raw export. Treat the generated narrative as a draft that you own.

Working from Google files is also possible. Since August 13, you can keep Google Docs, Sheets and Slides open beside the conversation and ask ChatGPT to summarize, analyze, compare or create something new from them. If your reporting lives in Google Sheets, that gives you a path from data to deck. For ad-platform data specifically, see our guide to Meta AI for Business.

Use case 3: sales presentations

Sales decks need to be tailored quickly for each prospect. Keep one approved master deck as the style reference, then generate a variant per account.

  • Attach the prospect’s website copy, call notes and your approved case studies.
  • Ask for a short deck aimed at the prospect’s role, using only the attached case studies as proof points.
  • Share it with a colleague for a live co-edit before the call.

Constraining the proof points to material you attach reduces the risk of invented claims. It doesn’t remove it, so a human review is still required.

Exporting and sharing with clients

Coverage of the launch says decks can be exported to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides. Export creates a copy, and the live co-edited version stays in Space. If you keep editing in Space after sending an export, the client’s copy won’t update.

Permissions matter for agency work. A Slides deck uses the same access settings as the Space and pages around it. Before putting client material in a shared Space, check who has access to that Space.

Slides vs. ChatGPT for PowerPoint

These are separate products. The ChatGPT add-in for PowerPoint works inside PowerPoint on a file you already own. Slides keeps the deck inside ChatGPT until someone exports it. The PowerPoint add-in became generally available globally on July 6, 2026.

If your agency’s templates live in PowerPoint and are heavily branded, the add-in may suit polishing better. One report suggests power users of the PowerPoint add-in may test Slides for early-stage creation. That seems a reasonable split.

Limits and what isn’t known yet

  • Comment-only access isn’t available at launch. You can’t give a client reviewer a comments-only role. Share an export instead, or grant edit access deliberately.
  • Availability is uneven. Eligible accounts may not see Slides yet.
  • I found no confirmed information on brand-kit enforcement, usage caps or how well ChatGPT Slides for marketers handles very large decks. Test these yourself on a low-stakes deck first.
  • Generated copy and figures need fact-checking. Nothing in the sources suggests the output is verified for you.

Alternatives and adjacent options

If you don’t have an eligible plan, the PowerPoint add-in is the nearest OpenAI option. Once a deck is final, you may want a video version. Our article on Alibaba Wan 3.0 covers turning PDFs and slides into short AI videos. For wider context on synthetic media in marketing, read AI Video Agents Are Now Indistinguishable From Humans.

Verdict: is ChatGPT Slides for marketers worth testing?

If you already pay for a Business or Enterprise plan with Space, it costs nothing extra to try. Start with an internal campaign review, where mistakes are cheap, then move to client decks. Use sales presentations last, because they involve claims about your company.

The gaps are real: no comment-only sharing, gradual availability and no verified details yet on brand controls. Treat ChatGPT Slides for marketers as a fast first-draft tool with a human reviewer, not an autopilot for client-facing work.
